CHAD SMITH
My name is Chad Smith. I am 26 years old and Toledo, Ohio is my little bit of heaven.
I started training in the Art around late 2009 early 2010. I was dabbling in trick martial arts (aka tricking) at a local gymnastics facility, Exeleration Gymnastics, when I noticed during a random Wednesday night open gym a bunch of guys vaulting over some of the spotting blocks. They moved unlike anything I've ever seen. Funny enough, one of them looked like Jesus Christ. (Sorry Sheeve...Had to) I went over and introduced myself like the social butterfly that I am and the rest is history.
I believe the Art chose me because... I was taught to seek freedom, peace, knowledge, fun, adventure, and truth during the entirety of my life. I credit that to my mother who, when I was 19, passed away. I made a promise to her and myself that I would; love, live, learn, and teach. The Art has given me a medium to keep my solemn promise.
I frequently train with a very interesting group of guys. These people all have a style of their own, a path through their environment they seek to trace. I've grown as an practitioner; in part, because of them.
