  • RYAN HATZUNG

Born and raised in Monroe, MI Ryan lived his young life as a typical Child; running, jumping, climbing and of course watching TV and playing video games. Growing up playing the atypical sports in school Ryan enjoyed more the camaraderie instead of the sports themselves so in highschool sport interest fell short to intramurals and of course more video games.

Luckily at Monroe County Community College Ryan came across an activity called Dagorhir (foam sword fighting), and immediately took to the playful battles and tight-knit people. Eventually though, time was taken over by work at a small fabrication shop, and the play was replaced by helping at a summer camp. Ryan's activity level was nearly wiped out when he came across his current job as a CAD designer for a small manufacturing shop.

The long hours sitting at work and at home took its toll, and it wasn't until his sister politely pointed out his growing belly that Ryan took action. Through health reading Ryan converted to a whole foods diet, picked up running, and started to put down the controller more often. During his running phase, Ryan accomplished several 5k's, and several mud runs including the Tough Mudder. He also managed a personal trainer certification through NCCPT.

However it wasn't until Ryan came across the Parkour class taught by TPF at Exceleration that he finally found what he really enjoys doing, and as of April 2013 Ryan hasn't stopped moving.
